Legacy Christian Academy Edges Brook Hill in 30–28 Thriller 9-5-205

Updated: Sep 11

On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Legacy Christian Academy Eagles (Frisco) battled down to the wire against the Brook Hill Guard (Bullard) in a matchup that lived up to the hype. With explosive plays, clutch performances, and a dramatic finish, Legacy escaped with a 30–28 victory to stay unbeaten on the season.

First Half: A Back-and-Forth Shootout

Legacy Christian wasted no time setting the tone. Quarterback Luke Lawrence opened the scoring by finding Brennan Baze on a 27-yard touchdown strike, giving the Eagles an early 7–0 lead. But Brook Hill quickly answered when Paul-Antoine Lapointe punched in a score to tie the game.

The second quarter featured more fireworks. Jack Craswell powered into the end zone to push Legacy back in front, but Brook Hill quarterback Zac Ryle evened things again with a touchdown pass to Grayson Rozell. At halftime, the score was knotted up, foreshadowing the dramatic finish ahead.

Legacy Builds Momentum in the Third

After halftime, Legacy Christian seized control. Running back Sam Jones capped a drive with a short touchdown run to make it 21–14. Senior kicker Jack Drygas added to the cushion with a booming 46-yard field goal, one of the biggest momentum plays of the night.

Quarterback Luke Lawrence then bulldozed in from the 1-yard line for another score. Though the two-point conversion failed, Legacy stretched the lead to 30–21, giving the Eagles a sense of control heading into the fourth quarter.

Brook Hill’s Rally Falls Just Short

Brook Hill wasn’t done. With less than three minutes to play, Ryle connected with Cole Schlueter for a 12-yard touchdown. The extra point brought the Guard within just two points at 30–28, setting up a tense finish.

Despite the late surge, Legacy Christian’s defense held strong, shutting the door on a comeback and sealing the win.
